Made Possible.Role SummaryThe Wood Scaler is responsible for efficient and timely processing of fiber receipts, which also includes ensuring the quality of raw materials entering the Texarkana Paperboard Manufacturing Facility and Queen City Woodyards. This role may at times include chip & fuel lab sampling, reconciling receipts, monitoring inventory and environmental aspects. In many instances, the Wood Scaler is the first point of contact with truck drivers, vendors, and contractors. As such, the Wood Scaler is an important communication link in the overall raw materials process.Duties & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following): * Understand and enforce all safety policies with all truck drivers, vendors, contractors, and visitors * Enforce Texarkana Mill fiber specifications-minimum/maximum tree diameter, tree length, tree species, and poor trim * Communicate with the facility operations that may affect the efficiency of turnaround time & processing * Conduct routine load audits * Assist in record retention management * Conduct inspections of contractor activities-general yard maintenance, shipping/receiving fiber in and out of the woodyard * Assist in maintaining a housekeeping the interior and exterior of scalehouse facility and other areas as required * Track woodyard inventories where age, location and rotation are concerned as necessary * Create and Reconcile shipping receipts * Monitor and track environmental aspects of woodyard; report observed issues to Leadership * Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications * High School diploma or equivalent * Proficient in establishing and maintaining professional relations with Suppliers/Drivers * Proven written, oral, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and the public * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook * Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with tact, courtesy, and discretion * Solid organization and time management skills * Able to work a rotating shift schedule, holidays, weekends, and overtime * Ability to work independently and in a team environment * Strong attention to detail * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States * Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening and drug screenSalary Min: $38,190.00Salary Mid:$47,690.00Salary Max:$57,190.00Graphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
